NEKAL Dialysis Center

NEKAL — the Nephrology Center of Lamia — is a chronic hemodialysis unit housed in a modern, two-floor facility with spacious dialysis halls and comfortable waiting areas for patients and their companions. It is staffed by medical and nursing personnel with many years of experience, and patients are monitored continuously by nephrologists.

The unit provides both classic hemodialysis and online hemodiafiltration, performed on 23 brand-new, latest-technology Artis Physio Plus machines by Baxter Gambro — two of them dedicated exclusively to seropositive patients — supported by a new online reverse-osmosis water system and a range of Swiss-origin Low- and High-Flux filters. Machines are strictly sterilized after every session. The premises are accessible for people with disabilities and offer private on-site parking for patients and companions.

NEKAL provides two forms of in-center dialysis — classic hemodialysis and online hemodiafiltration — delivered on 23 latest-technology Artis Physio Plus machines by Baxter Gambro, two reserved exclusively for seropositive patients, with dialysis water prepared by a new online reverse-osmosis system. A range of Swiss-origin Low- and High-Flux filters and a variety of needles for a painless puncture are available, machines are strictly sterilized after every session, and patients are monitored continuously by nephrologists.

During treatment, patients rest on electrically adjustable beds with a handset and have an individual television with headphones and free Wi-Fi, and snacks and beverages are provided. Spacious waiting areas are available for companions, the premises are accessible for people with disabilities, and private parking is available on site.

NEKAL is located at G. Gennimata 15, Lamia 35100, in the regional unit of Phthiotis, central Greece. The unit offers private on-site parking for patients and companions and is accessible for people with disabilities.

Mandatory Fees:

For patients insured by EOPYY or other funds, and for EU citizens with a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC/EKAA), dialysis filters and needles are billed separately from the session, as set out in the center’s published price list. For private (uninsured) patients, a fixed per-session fee applies.
