What to Expect
On the day of the appointment, present at the Urology Department after 2 to 5 days of sexual abstinence required for the spermiogram and semen culture. A venous blood draw is performed for blood typing, hemoglobin electrophoresis, infectious-disease markers (HBsAg, anti-HCV, HIV, VDRL/RPR), testosterone, and FSH. The semen sample is collected in a private collection room on site, then the semen analysis and the sensitivity culture are processed by the laboratory. The urological clinical examination is performed during the same visit.
Duration
Approximately two to three hours, completed in a single visit, after 2 to 5 days of sexual abstinence required for the spermiogram and semen culture.
