The Oncology Check Up for Women at Athens Medical Center is delivered through the Oncology Center together with the Gynaecology Department and the central Radiology Department (2D/3D digital mammography with tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound with elastography). The Oncology Center operates a multidisciplinary tumor board, robotic surgery on the Da Vinci Xi HD platform, IMRT and VMAT radiation therapy, the largest private I-131 therapeutic unit in Greece, and PET/CT on a GE Discovery MI 4-RING Gen 2 scanner; the center collaborates with MD Anderson Cancer Center and Athens Medical Group is an International Affiliate of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust focused on oncology. The hospital is JCI-accredited and TEMOS Excellence in Medical Tourism certified.

What to Expect
On the day of the appointment, present at the Oncology Center, timed where possible to cycle days 9 to 11 for the digital mammogram and Pap smear test. The chest X-ray is performed through the central Radiology Department, the gynaecological clinical examination and gynaecological ultrasound are performed by the Gynaecology Department, and the bilateral digital mammogram and bilateral breast ultrasound are performed through the central Radiology Department with breast elastography support. The Pap smear is taken at the gynaecology room and processed by the laboratory together with the tumor marker panel (CEA, CA 15-3, CA 12-5, CA 19-9, AFP). The oncology clinical assessment integrates the complete result set.
Duration
Approximately three hours, completed in a single visit timed to cycle days 9 to 11 at the Oncology Center.
