Massive Bio Inc. uses AI and physician expertise to connect cancer patients globally with suitable clinical trials, focusing on oncology and hematology.
Massive Bio Inc., established in New York City in 2015, is a digital health company specializing in AI-driven oncology clinical trial matching. It does not provide direct care but acts as a facilitator, connecting cancer patients with relevant research studies globally. Its mission is “to create a world without cancer by empowering individuals everywhere with equal access to cancer clinical trials, utilizing concierge services, real-time data, and AI technology to bridge gaps in enhancing patient outcomes”.
Led by co-founders Selin Kurnaz (CEO), Arturo Loaiza-Bonilla (CMO), and Cagatay Culcuoglu (CTO/COO/CLO), the company blends technological innovation with clinical expertise. It has grown significantly, operating in numerous countries (reports vary from 12 to 18) and languages (11 cited), supported by substantial investments. Massive Bio differentiates itself by integrating sophisticated AI (like SYNERGY-AI/DLCTMS) with human physician oversight and maintains an extensive network involving patients, providers, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and patient advocacy groups. Its headquarters are located at 90 West Street, 12m, New York, NY, 10006, USA.
Massive Bio’s primary service is AI-powered clinical trial matching for oncology and hematology patients, offered free of charge. Patients provide consent and upload medical records (various formats accepted). The company’s proprietary AI platform (e.g., SYNERGY-AI, DLCTMS), utilizing Natural Language Processing (NLP) and potentially Computer Vision, analyzes the patient’s diagnosis, stage, genomic profile, biomarkers, treatment history, and location against a vast database of clinical trials (over 14,000-19,000 cited).
Crucially, AI-generated matches are reviewed and validated by Massive Bio’s physicians. Within approximately 24 hours, the patient receives a personalized report detailing suitable trials and nearby study sites. The company also provides ongoing “concierge” support, assisting with understanding eligibility criteria, exploring financial/insurance aspects related to trials, and facilitating appointment scheduling with trial sites. This service covers a broad spectrum of cancer types and operates globally across multiple countries and languages.
Massive Bio has received significant recognition for its innovation. Key awards include a National Cancer Institute (NCI) SBIR Contract for its DLCTMS development, being named Regional Winner in AI at the UK Pathfinder Awards (2024), inclusion in Fast Company’s “Startup 100” List (2021, 2024), the NYC Digital Health Top 100 List, and being a Quarterfinalist at the UCSF Health Hub Digital Health Awards (2022) for AI Application and Health Equity. They were also finalists for the Doktorclub Awards’ Social Responsibility Project and featured by Biotech Metropolitan Women. While highly awarded, the provided information did not detail formal accreditations like ISO certifications.

Hello, Massive Bio, Inc. has been working with me for approximately 3 years now. During that time, they have been nothing but willing to help me with whatever I need while on my journey of hope to beat this fight with cancer. They helped me with Foundation One and NGS testing, when I had never even heard of this, not even from my oncologist. This team of people. Doctors, nurses, nurse navigators, admin, and every member that I have spoken to, made it possible and opened the door for me to research and pursue matching clinical trials. Also, finding the assistance that I needed to go and receive trial screening a few hours away from home. When I had some difficulty, they were immediately there to fix any bumps that existed. I am very blessed to have team in my corner. Special thanks to Dr. Diego, Director of Clinical Operations - Ann Stevens - BSN RN , Oncology Nurse Navigator - Kristina Hine, amd Amanda M. Huntis- RN, BSN, VP of Clinical Operations. If I left anyone out I apologize. Not only did they assist me, they listened to my story. My cancer journey. They listened to me cry and be disappointed with our healthcare system, they listened to my frustration, and my fears. They listened to me and respected my decisions. I felt cared for. I have not felt pushed to the side or forgotten about for over 3 years. With their encouragement and diligent research, I feel that their is hope for me to end this journey one day and live out the rest of my life. Thanks to all of you and to the founders of MassiveBio, Inc.

I have been making repeated attempts to contact your team on behalf of my family member, yet it has proven extremely difficult to get through. The lack of responsiveness is unacceptable. Furthermore, the team appears unaware of the reports already uploaded to your website and instead insists on waiting for hospitals to re‑submit identical documents, a process that takes weeks and causes unnecessary delays. Despite persistent follow‑ups via email, phone, and every available channel, I have received no acknowledgment or resolution. While the initiative itself is commendable, its value is entirely undermined if users cannot access or benefit from it. Without timely communication and proper recognition of submitted reports, the service fails to meet its stated purpose. I urge immediate corrective action to address these issues and ensure that families relying on this service are not left without support.
