Service Summary
A women’s health screen with gynaecological exam, Pap smear, pelvic and breast ultrasound, breast palpation, and digital mammography for early detection.
Possible Side Effects
The pelvic exam and Pap smear can cause brief discomfort and light spotting for one to two days after the test. Breast palpation and breast ultrasound are non-invasive; the ultrasound gel feels cool. Digital mammography compresses the breast for a few seconds per image, which causes pressure, soreness, and rarely a small skin bruise. Transvaginal ultrasound, when used, produces brief pelvic pressure.
