A list of the most asked questions about this care center:
Generally, appointments are necessary for imaging examinations (like MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, mammograms), cardiology tests, endoscopies, and other specialized procedures. However, routine blood tests (such as hematological, biochemical, hormonal) usually do not require a pre-scheduled appointment and can be performed on a walk-in basis, typically recommended during morning hours.
Yes, many blood tests, particularly biochemical, hormonal, and immunological ones, require specific preparation. Common instructions include fasting (usually for 10-12 hours prior), avoiding alcohol consumption for 24 hours, and potentially refraining from intense physical activity or smoking. Always confirm the exact preparation needed for your specific tests with the center or your referring doctor.
Yes, all Biotypos diagnostic centers are contracted with EOPYY, the Greek National Organization for Healthcare Provision. If you have a valid referral from an EOPYY-affiliated doctor, your insurance will cover a significant portion of the cost for eligible tests, though you will likely be responsible for the standard patient co-payment determined by EOPYY rules.
Today my patience was really tested. I went to Biotypo to have an MRI of the heart, having been informed over the phone that the cost would be €150. Already a pretty high amount, but anyway, I had accepted it. Upon arriving there, I was asked to do additional tests (urea and creatinine), with an extra charge. Although they had quoted me these prices over the phone, what they had NOT told me —and this is the most unacceptable part of the matter— was that I had to go to a pharmacy myself, on Good Friday, to buy the contrast agent! And of course, because of the day, I did not find any pharmacies open nearby. So, I am forced to run to find it, buy it (€20–25 extra) and go back to Biotypo to hand it over to them. That is, not only do you pay a significant amount, but you also have to go through this painful process, without any prior information. This is not proper service. It is a lack of professionalism and respect for the patient. It is good that such basic information is given from the beginning, so that people know what to expect — especially when it comes to health and money. Really disappointed. Instead of questioning your customers, it would be better to take into account the criticism to improve or at least apologize. Besides, as can be seen from your ratings, the lack of apology is something that is repeated.
I went for a friend to get test results. It sounds like they are good at biopsies.
